The mission of the Foundation is to keep alive the memory of Imre Nagy, the prime minister of the 1956 revolution and freedom fight, to preserve his intellectual and moral legacy, make his career and political oeuvre public knowledge and promote the values he advocated (national identity, the unity and traditions of the country, democracy and tolerance, universal human rights also in the social sense). The purpose of the Imre Nagy Memorial House is to meet these goals through setting up the exhibition, organising events and academic conferences, and publishing various materials about the 1956 revolution and the person of Imre Nagy.
